Larry Jay is a unisex Ghanaian brand that has a unique and timeless personality living in a clean, diverse and progressive world.
We are generally inspired by Nature, Various African Cultures and Arts.
Our designs exude an understated style and emphasizes “tradition and comfort” with details and innovations that echo our West African heritage.
As a brand we are built on 3 core values:
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION:- We prioritize protecting our environment by repurposing fabric waste dumped in Ghana by western manufacturers and firms into our artisanal tiedyes and batiks through our upcycling initiative. This helps reduce waste in our community and the fashion production cycle at large.
CULTURE AND HERITAGE PRESERVATION:- Sourcing locally produced fabrics, Tiedyes/batiks and Fugu (Handwoven fabric) made by the hands of our artisans who use vintage dyeing and weaving techniques left by our forebears, we empower and preserve indigenous craftsmanship.
REDUCING UNEMPLOYMENT RATES:- Through our efforts to protect community and preserve our culture and heritage, we are able to engage local people and pay them above the living wage by working hand in hand with them. This not only helps reduce unemployment rate but also facilitates local reinvestment in the community and improving our value chain as a brand.
