  • The 'abacost' shape originated from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and was promoted under Mobutu Sese Seko regime, as a symbol of breaking with the colonial past. The name Abacost comes from the french contraction 'à bas le costume' (“down with the western suit”)
  • Lined with the 'Abode Santann' printed cotton lining: an Adinkra symbol from Ghana representing the 'all seeing eye', the idea that God is ever present and sees everything
