Poi Pounder draws from a 1960s Duke Kahanamoku by Kahala heritage print inspired by Hawaiian petroglyphs, or kii pohaku, images carved into lava rock by Native Hawaiians to record daily life, navigation, and spiritual beliefs. Figures of paddlers, animals, and geometric markingsappear across the islands, forming one of Hawaii's earliest visual languages. The print reflects the stylized approach to island imagery that emerged in midcentury design. As Kahala celebrates 90 years of shirtmaking in Hawaii, Poi Pounder returns from the archive in our signature cotton broadcloth. Made in Hawaii, the shirt features a matched front, coconut buttons, and a vintage-inspired collar. Offered in Natural and Navy.Details:
